Thank You, Crescent Cities Charities, for Your Generous SupportWe are so grateful to Crescent Cities Charities for their generous $2,500 donation to the Savannah Widows Society. Because of this gift, Marsha, an 81-year-old widow on a fixed income of $1,300 a month, was able to stay in her home.
Marsha’s kitchen had been terribly damaged by a leak, leaving her without a working sink, safe flooring, or functional counters. With the help of Crescent Cities Charities, we were able to provide Marsha with a new sink cabinet, water heater, countertops, and flooring, making her home livable again.
Marsha owns her home, and thanks to this donation, she can continue to live there safely and with dignity.
On behalf of Marsha and all the women we serve, thank you to Crescent Cities Charities for making a real difference in the lives of widows in Savannah.

We often receive notes of appreciation from our applicants. It's such a sweet reminder of why we do what we do. Recently, we received this note from Ella an applicant and recipient in March 2023. Her note has touched our hearts.
Greetings Savannah Widows' Society,

Thanks a million for your kindness, the donation you gave to me will help me to start making repairs in my home.

There (isn't) aren't words that I can say to express how I really feel, or how much I do appreciate the money (granted for the repairs).

This has helped me emotionally, spiritually and has boosted my self-esteem.  I was overwhelmed in house repairs, but I can start making repairs.  I already feel better knowing that I am able to begin working in the house.

We often receive notes of appreciation from our applicants. It's such a sweet reminder of why we do what we do. Recently, we received this note from Ella an applicant and recipient in February 2022. Her note has touched our hearts.

Dear Widows Society,

Happy New Year - I pray that all is well and I'd like to thank you for praying for me and helping me in the past. God knows you have been a blessing to me- OMG! I am writing today to let you know that I won't have to ask for your help anymore and I trust God in this declaration. You see my ex-husband died back in Oct. of 2021 and I now get some of his contributions to social security. Praise God-I can pay all my bills for the month-eat what I want to eat and bless others with cards or small tokens of love because they helped me live when I was struggling. I love all of you and ask God to keep you in your mission to make the world a better place by helping women who need your help. I pray that you never, ever run out of money and kindness.

Yours Truly,
Ella
